Frequently asked questions

Where are you located?

We're at 239 Java Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn - part of the SFDS fabrication facility that's been serving NYC for over 20 years. Easy access from the G train, street parking available, and we're happy to receive deliveries for larger projects.

Can I visit or pick up my prints in person?

Absolutely. We're open Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm by appointment. Whether you're picking up a finished piece, dropping off something to scan, or want to discuss a project in person - we're here. Just give us a heads up so we can have everything ready.

Do you ship outside of NYC?

We do. We take great care in packaging your 3D prints to ensure they arrive safely. We use sturdy boxes and bubble wrap packing materials to protect your items during transit.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes, we offer expedited shipping options for an additional fee. If your timeline is critical, let us know upfront—we can often adjust production scheduling to get you out the door faster too.

What makes you different from other shops?

Three things:
1. Experience: Our team has 20 years in digital modeling and 11 years running production 3D print operations. We've seen what works and what fails.
2. Full pipeline: Most shops hand you a raw print. We have a professional scenic department—the same team that finishes pieces for major retail displays. We offer a full range of professional finishing options, including painting, airbrushing, and chroming to take your project from a simple print to a fully realized, finished product. Shelf-ready.
3. We solve problems: Custom resin formulations, scan-to-print reproduction, exotic materials. If another shop said "we can't do that," talk to us.

How long will it take?

If your file is ready to go, we can have your prints within 24 - 48 hours. Things will take longer for larger quantities, bigger objects or files that require further finessing.

I don’t have a file. Can you create a 3D file for me?

Yes - and this is actually where we shine. Our lead designer has 20 years of 3D modeling experience across product design, character work, and technical parts. We work from: napkin sketches, reference photos, 2D drawings, existing objects (we'll scan them), or just a description of what you need. Most quotes for design work returned within 24 hours.

Who owns the intellectual property of my 3D model?

You do. Period. Your files are used only to fulfill your order, then archived securely. We don't share, reuse, or display your work without permission. We sign NDAs routinely for sensitive projects - just ask. We've worked with clients on proprietary product development, prototype IP, and unreleased designs. Confidentiality is standard operating procedure here.

What's the largest piece you can print?

Our Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga prints up to 800×800×1000mm—that's over 31 inches in a single piece. For projects larger than that, we design for sectioning and seamless assembly. We've produced life-size figures, architectural elements, and large-scale props.

What resolution/detail level can you achieve?

Our 8K resin printers (Phrozen 8K V2) achieve 28.5 micron XY resolution—that's finer than a human hair. For jewelry or miniatures with extreme detail, this is what you want.

Can you scan an existing object and reproduce it?

Yes. We have large and small format 3D scanning, and a complete scan-to-print pipeline. Bring us the object (or ship it), we'll capture it, clean up the mesh, and produce copies at any scale. Useful for: replacement parts, restoration work, scaling props up or down, reverse engineering.

Can you match a specific color?

Yes - we do color matching. Give us a Pantone code, RAL number, or a physical sample, and we'll match it. This applies to both painted finishes and the resin itself.

Do you work with specialty or exotic resins?

Yes. We stock flexible resins, engineering-grade resins (high-temp, ABS-like, castable), and clear resins. We also do custom resin mixing for specific properties or colors. If you have a material requirement that seems unusual, let us know - we've probably handled something similar.

What finishing options do you offer?

Full scenic finishing: sanding, priming, painting (brush, spray, airbrush), weathering, clear coating (matte to high-gloss). Metallic finishes like chroming, gold, copper, and other metal effects. We're part of SFDS, a full fabrication shop - the same team that finishes pieces for retail displays and film props.

What file formats do you accept?

STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP for print-ready files. Not sure if your format works? Send it over - we'll figure it out.

What if my file isn't printable?"

We'll fix it. Non-manifold geometry, inverted normals, walls too thin to print - we see these daily. Minor repairs are included in the quote. Major reconstruction is billed as design work, but we'll tell you upfront before we start.

Do you do production runs or just prototypes?

Both. Single prototypes, short runs (10–500 pieces), and ongoing production. Our fleet of printers means we can scale capacity without sacrificing turnaround.
